First African-American to play, win on the PGA tour honored with revitalized golf course

Charlie Sifford was the first African American to play and win on the PGA Tour. With the help of Tiger Woods, a West Philadelphia golf course where Sifford got his start is making sure his legacy lives on. NBC10’s Fred Shropshire has the story.

Cobbs Creek Foundation is dedicated to honoring Charlie Sifford’s legacy. The restoration for this historic golf course will pay tribute to its rich history but also prioritize the current community as well as future generations through its educational and community programming.
